  8. What is Polypropylene Tape?

Polypropylene tape is the most commonly used style of packaging tape. Polypropylene  tape is normally tough, flexible, recyclable and resistant to fatigue due to the chemical properties of the polypropylene film it’s made with. There are several different adhesives available with polypropylene tapes, but we only use hot melt because of its fast sticking and bonding properties. Polypropylene tapes used for packaging applications include such varieties as Carton Sealing Tapes, Tamper Evident Tapes and Strapping Tapes.

  9. What is vinyl (pvc) tape?

Vinyl (PVC) tape is typically moisture and chemical resistant.  Made with vinyl films in several chemical compositions, they are often categorized as Electrical Tape, Hazard Stripe Tape, Pipe Wire Tape, and other. PVC tape can offer unique UV resistance and are typically used for surface protection, identification, safety, bonding, electrical, medical, and packaging applications.

  10. What is water activated gummed tape?

Water Activated Tape (WAT)  is a paper tape with an adhesive that is only activated when wet and provides an instant bond.  Usually used with a gummed tape dispenser machine that wets the tape and cuts into predetermined measurements. The tape backing can be non-reinforced or reinforced with fiberglass filaments that offer extra tensile strength to avoid splitting or tearing.  Selection of this tape is often based on its temperature resistance, holding power, and non-removability as required for heavy, corrugated surface packaging used in industrial shipping. The tape backing is also waterproof.
